For the fourth straight inauguration, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police will have a presence on the ground in Washington, DC. A team of around 60 CMPD officers were sworn in by the DC Metropolitan Police Department Thursday morning. The officer are among a reported 3,000 officers, from outside Washington, asked to help police the inauguration. Some 7,000 National Guardsmen have been called on as well.
