"Gray Death" Drug Spreading Across Southeast

Authorities are warning that "gray death," a drug containing an elephant tranquilizer, could be on the streets of western North Carolina.

Several unusual overdoses in Henderson County raised concern with Emergency Medical Services personnel.  The district attorney says the drug, a mixture of heroine, opioid, fentanyl and the elephant tranquilizer, has killed people in Alabama, Ohio and Georgia.

Buncombe County Sheriff's Office is aware of the drug but hasn't seen it in their jurisdiction.
